How TalkHead handles data
Last updated 6 September 2026
What this is
TalkHead Newsletter is a personal, single-operator automation that publishes one short AI-news explainer video per day. It is built, run, and owned entirely by its author, Pankaj Kumar, and is not distributed to or usable by any other person or organization.
Each day, the pipeline:
- Reads the day's top AI-industry news story from a fixed editorial source.
- Writes a short, plain-language narration script from that story.
- Synthesizes narration in the author's own cloned voice and assembles a short vertical video.
- Sends the finished video to the author privately on Telegram for a one-tap Publish/Discard decision.
- If approved, publishes the video to the author's own YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok accounts.
TikTok data access
This app requests exactly two TikTok API scopes, both against the author's own TikTok account only:
Scopes requested
user.info.basic is used only to confirm which account is authorized. video.publish is used only to upload the day's finished video to that same account. The app does not read followers, comments, direct messages, analytics, or any other TikTok user's data, and is not offered to or usable by any TikTok account other than the author's own.
YouTube, Instagram & LinkedIn data access
The same one-account, one-purpose model applies to every platform this
pipeline publishes to. On YouTube it requests only the
youtube.upload scope, used solely to upload the day's
video to the author's own channel — no analytics, comments, or
subscriber data. Instagram and LinkedIn publishing likewise only ever
posts to the author's own connected accounts.
What's stored, and where
The only credentials stored are OAuth access/refresh tokens for the author's own social accounts, held as encrypted secrets in the project's private GitHub Actions environment and used solely to re-authenticate each day's automated upload. A log of each day's published script, video, and publish result is kept privately for the author's own record-keeping. No data collected through any of these scopes is sold, shared with, or processed by any third party beyond the platform it was published to.
